AA Euro Healthcare is currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Relief Healthcare Assistants to support nursing teams within a community hospital setting in East Galway/Roscommon border.
Successful candidates will provide high-quality, person-centred care under the supervision of registered nursing staff, supporting patients` dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.
Flexible day and night shifts are available, depending on service requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Full QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Nursing Studies, Community Care, Health Service Skills or a comparable healthcare qualification.
- Relevant experience in a hospital, community, residential or nursing home setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, professional and patient-centred approach to care.
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts depending on service needs.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland and satisfactory Garda vetting and compliance checks
- Willingness to complete mandatory and service-specific training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, hygiene, dressing, toileting and continence care while maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Support patient mobility, transfers and repositioning in accordance with safe moving and handling procedures.
- Assist with meals, hydration and nutritional needs as directed by nursing staff.
- Monitor and report changes in patients physical, emotional or behavioural wellbeing.
- Carry out delegated clinical observations and documentation within training and competency levels.
- Promote patient independence, comfort and wellbeing through compassionate, person-centred care.
- Provide support to patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention, hygiene and health and safety.
- Assist with maintaining patient areas, equipment and supplies.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care.
