AA Euro Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Social Care Worker to join their disability services team in Cork City.
This is a permanent 30 hour per week contract, with a shift pattern that includes day shifts, night shifts and sleepovers. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and motivated Social Care Worker to support adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible while promoting choice, dignity, safety and quality of life.
The Role
Working as part of a dedicated care team, you will provide person-centred support within residential and respite services. You will assist individuals with their daily living needs while supporting independence, personal goals and meaningful participation in their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to residents and respite service users
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care
- Support individuals to achieve their personal goals and maximise independence
- Act as a Keyworker and contribute to individual care plans
- Support safe medication management in line with policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation
- Promote a safe, comfortable and homely environment
- Record and report incidents and accidents appropriately
- Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and healthcare professionals
- Follow HIQA standards, safeguarding, infection prevention and health & safety requirements
- Undertake shift-leader responsibilities when required
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a minimum Level 7/8 qualification on the QQI Framework BA in Social Care Studies
- Be CORU registered or currently in the process of registration evidence of registration/application will be required
- Have previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities
- Demonstrate a person-centred and compassionate approach
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a good understanding of professional confidentiality and GDPR
- Have knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards for disability services
- Be flexible to work according to the needs of the service
